Columbian Wyandotte
The Columbian Wyandotte is a striking and dependable heritage breed known for its crisp white plumage beautifully contrasted with black lacing on the neck, wings, and tail. This classic coloring makes the Columbian Wyandotte one of the most eye-catching members of the Wyandotte family.
Beyond their beauty, Columbian Wyandottes are valued for their steady production and hardy nature. Hens typically lay 180–220 medium to large brown eggs per year, making them a solid dual-purpose choice for both eggs and meat. They are well known for their calm, friendly temperament and adapt well to both backyard and farm environments.
Their rose comb and dense feathering give them excellent cold tolerance, making them a fantastic option for northern climates. Columbian Wyandottes are confident, easygoing birds that do well in mixed flocks and are suitable for beginners, families, and seasoned poultry keepers alike.
