Need a Reliable Character Counter for Social Media and Articles

Hey everyone! I’m struggling to manage character limits for different types of writing. I work on social media posts, newsletters, and occasional blog articles, and every platform seems to have its own strict requirements. For example, Twitter (well, X now) has a tight character limit, Instagram captions have a slightly higher limit, and my email newsletters have their own formatting quirks. I’ve tried using built-in editor tools, but sometimes they give inconsistent numbers, or they don’t count spaces and line breaks correctly.

Last week, I spent nearly an hour tweaking a social media post because the editor kept saying I was over the character limit, even though I double-checked manually. It’s frustrating because this takes time away from creating content, and I often have multiple posts scheduled at the same time. Ideally, I want an online tool that can quickly count characters, words, and sentences for any text, is accurate, doesn’t lag on long documents, and works on both desktop and mobile. Has anyone found a tool like this that’s reliable and easy to use for both short posts and longer articles?

Managing character limits across platforms can be frustrating, especially when tools count differently. Creating a simple checklist and using a reliable counter can help maintain consistency.
