Has anyone here done smart home product testing? Curious how it works in the real world.
Hey all, I’ve been getting more and more into smart home tech over the last year — everything from smart thermostats and plugs to voice assistants and security cams. I’ve always just bought the big-name stuff, but recently I started wondering about how these products actually get tested before hitting the shelves. Like, who makes sure they work with all the different platforms (Alexa, Google Home, etc.) or that the apps don’t randomly crash?
I stumbled across this site: https://www.testing4success.com/services/smarthomeqa.html and it got me thinking. Do companies send their products out to third-party smart home QA testers? Has anyone here ever worked with or for one of these testing companies?
Just curious what that process is really like from the inside. I imagine it’s not all glamorous — probably a lot of tedious bug tracking — but it also sounds kinda cool to be on the front line of testing this tech before it goes mainstream.
Would love to hear from anyone who’s done smart home product testing or knows more about it. How’d you get into it? Is it a full-time thing or more contract/freelance-based? Appreciate any insight.
Sprunki Game? Sounds strange but interesting! Fun graphics, gameplay seems addictive. Anyone who has played it, please give me a review!
