How to choose a door for a cold climate?

We live in a region where the temperature often drops below -30°C in winter, and our old front door is a terrible cold-shower. We want to replace it with something warmer, but we don’t know how to choose the right size and which materials retain heat better. Maybe someone has already replaced a door in similar conditions?

Yes, when choosing a door, you need to consider not only the size, but also the thermal insulation. For example, metal doors with foam filler or high-quality double-glazed windows on the side panels can make a big difference. We studied the information before buying exterior door sizes and https://www.elegantentrydoors.ca/standard-exterior-door-sizes-for-canadian-homes/ helped us understand what sizes are standard and what materials are better for the cold. In the end, we installed a thermal door with an insulated frame - the difference is huge!
