What format is better for saving videos: MOV or MP4? I shoot on an iPhone, edit all the videos there, and I usually save them in MOV format because it’s convenient. But maybe MP4 would be a more universal option? In short, if there’s a significant difference, please share why it’s better to save videos in MP4.

File size is really important. And if you’re working with large video files, this is particularly relevant since space on a Mac is unfortunately not infinite. At least for this reason, I choose MP4. There are plenty of converters available https://setapp.com/how-to/convert-mov-to-mp4, but when choosing one, I primarily focused on fast conversion without quality loss. So far, Permute has turned out to be the most convenient because it’s quick, can convert batches of files, and maximally preserves quality.
