Are sustainable materials still more expensive to produce compared to traditional ones?

I've been looking into sustainable fashion lately, and one thing that really caught my attention is how brands are incorporating recycled materials into their textiles. It seems like a great step toward circular fashion, but I wonder—how effective is it really? Are these recycled fabrics truly durable, or do they wear out faster? And what about the costs? Are sustainable materials still more expensive to produce compared to traditional ones? Would love to hear some real insights on this!

The textile industry is evolving fast, but there's still a long way to go before recycled materials become the norm. One thing I’ve noticed is that while big brands are making sustainable fabrics more mainstream, smaller designers and independent labels often struggle with access to affordable recycled textiles. It’s great to see more research and development in this area because better recycling methods could make a huge difference for the future of fashion.
