The Blue Swedish Duck was bred in northern England and Poland and arrived in North America around 1884. They are slow to mature, but make a good meat duck and are also a moderate egg layer. Blue Swedish Ducks are a very hardy bird due to heritage. Their plumage is uniform bluish slate with some feathers laced in a darker shade. They carry some white on their wings and breast, and males are slightly bigger and darker than females.
Blue Swedish ducklings are sold as straight run only and will not be sexed.
